Mission Haiti: 2014 Report
July 30, 2014
A Mission’s team of seven traveled to Haiti from July 12 - July 20. The team was headed by Deaconess Islande Dupoux and Elder Billy Boyd. Members of the team included Angela Blassman, Zachary Boyd, Phyllis Cross, Ernst Dupoux and Eleth Ann Watson. We spent seven glorious days attending church and praising God, camping, working and partaking with nearly five hundred children. We visited orphanages in different towns and worked with a medical team from North Carolina.
All participants, including the nearly 500 beautiful children ages 6 - 20 from different parts of the country, were once again ecstatic and grateful for their experience at the four-day camp in aquin. At the camp we once again partnered with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) Haiti, and led various camp activities including sports/games, music, dance, crochet, sewing, and more. Nearly 50 children, and two mothers gave their hearts to the Lord.
First time travelers Elder Billy, his son Zach, and Angela remarked several times during our trip, that they were blessed by the contributions of Mission Haiti, and inspired to go above and beyond their perceived capabilities. Billy observed that “many people don’t understand Haiti is a country being rich in its landscape paradise and beautiful people. Devastated by earthquakes and hurricanes, Haiti is in desperate need of our support in prayer.” He is absolutely correct; therefore, we must pray that God will continue to use us to spread His ministry all over the country, and to establish a stronger presence in Haiti. We praise Him for giving us the opportunity to be at His service.
By the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the mission trip was a complete success! He led us and made us see His glory. We cannot wait to do it again next year!
